I use the Trotec IC080 Multimeasure Professional Thermal Imaging Camera which combines advanced detector technology, infrared imaging processing and state of the art data processing. Thermal imaging can find the difference in temperatures inside the structure and is an extra help to find moisture. Any cold areas are then checked with the moisture meter to see if the area is cold or wet.
The Moisture Meter I use is the Trotec T650. This apparatus is a dielectric moisture indicator with which moisture and its distribution (not point of origin) can be located quickly and non-destructively. Penetration depth is between 20 to 40mm from inside the building to out, depending on the bulk density of the material.
